Description of Products or What's That Wallets Name & Why?

Each maker likely has their own story behind the names they choose for the products they make and design. DosRosDesigns is not any different. When we began dabbling in leatherwork the wallet versions started to be created, and favorite designs were inherently chosen. We sold several wallets before they had official names, and before we knew if the idea of eventually creating an online store was a real option. 


As we sold a few more wallets, and custom project requests came in, we knew we needed to create some sort of product naming structure. We decided to utilize the RGV in our home of South Texas as inspiration. 

Product Names Description/Meaning

  • The Burg For Edinburg, which is smaller than McAllen, Mission, & other surrounding cities. It has what you need, but is more minimal than the other cities - hence the name for the most minimalist wallet we make. There are a few variations of The Burg.
  • The Willacy 4 of 4 counties that make up the Valley. Smallest county in the Valley. There are a few variations of the Willacy.
  • The Beatnik Reference to the beat generation, and the media stereotype of the movement with the hipster stereotype of modern day. There are two variations of the Beatnik, both with two snap buttons, but one features an open side for easy card retrieval. *Technically not RGV related, but the Beat Generation is inspiring to the maker.
  • The Starr 3 of 4 counties that make up the Valley. 3rd largest county in the Valley. There are a couple variations of the Starr.
  • The Cameron 2 of 4 counties that make up the Valley. 2nd largest county in the Valley.
  • The Hildago 1 of 4 counties that make up the Valley. Largest County in the Valley
  • The Valley The larger Valley. Each of the 4 counties builds up to the Valley. So the wallets need to grow in size to the largest wallet I make.
  • The Roper or Long Wallet There are multiple styles in this collection, but all designed to be a clutch for ladies. 

This list makes up the majority of the current collection of products. As we continue to make, decide what we like, and even from time to time take the customized request and learn from our customers, we will continue to make updates to our product collection listings.
